Western Sydney Airport. Katoomba to WSA is 70 km and about 65 minutes off-peak, compared to 102 km and 95 minutes to Sydney Kingsford Smith. WSA is effectively the Blue Mountains' local airport — the most direct route is essentially straight downhill.
You can do it on the Blue Mountains Line (T1) to Central Station — about 2 hours — then transfer to the T8 Airport Line. Total is around 2 hours 15 minutes. It's a significant journey, but it works if you're travelling light and have an afternoon flight.
